A bill to prevent the teaching of "any theory that denies the study of the Divine Creation of Man as taught in the Bible, or to teach instead, that Man has descended from a lower order of animals, or to teach what is commonly understood to be the Theory of Evolution or Darwinism." Violators would be charged with a misdemeanor and fined for each offense.

On February 5, 1927, Representative L.O. Richardson intro­duced House Bill No. 222. This bill was referred to the Committee on Education which reported back on February 19, with a re­commendation that H.B. No. 222 be indefinitely postponed. This bill was not presented for further consideration by the House of Representatives.
