Dealing with Denial
Why do so many people reject the science of climate change or evolution, when both are supported by multiple lines of scientific evidence? Where does denial come from, and what’s the best way to counteract it?
Climate science should be taught like any other established scientific field, or any other topic included in state science standards. Encouraging students to debate the science sends a very mixed message, and one we do not recommend.

Evolution denial takes many forms. There is no single form of creationism and its history is longer than many expect. As a result, students or parents may come in with arguments that teachers are not familiar with or prepared to answer.
