Fossil Friday

Not a muffin.

Today, courtesy of Dan Phelps, is a fresh fossil—he found it outside Maysville, Kentucky, just six days ago! It is not, despite appearances, a muffin, which is good: a six-day-old muffin would be stale and inedible. Especially if it was from the Ordovician. Anyhow, if you think you know the genus, leave your guess in the comments section below. The first person to identify the fossil correctly will receive what can only be described in terms of the title of George W. Ainslie’s well-known paper published in Psychological Bulletin 1975; 82(4):463–496.
