Evolution and the nature of science: Pheromones, fossils, and a fishapod
NCSE's Education Project Director Louise S. Mead
August 9, 2008
Colorado Springs, CO
Join NCSE's Education Project Director Louise S. Mead for a day-long workshop on evolution, sponsored by the Friends of the Florrisant Fossil Beds National Monument, held at Colorado College. The scientific evidence for evolution is overwhelming. Educating students about evolution continues to be a controversial topic in many communities. Evolution and the nature of science: Pheromones, fossils, and a fishapod will include discussions of the nature of science and scientific theories, fossil evidence for evolution, and current research in evolutionary biology. Hands-on activities developed from recent fossil findings and strategies for teaching evolution in a climate of controversy will also be presented.
