The Association for Women Geoscientists announced in a press release dated October 3, 2003, that NCSE Supporter Patricia Kelley will receive the 2003 AWG Foundation Outstanding Educator Award at the AWG breakfast to be held at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Seattle on November 3, 2003. A dinosaur lover as a child, Kelley received her PhD under the late Stephen Jay Gould, going on to hold positions at the University of Mississippi, the National Science Foundation, the University of North Dakota, and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she is now Professor and past Chair of the Department of Earth Sciences. Congratulations from all of us at NCSE!
