Thomas Henry Huxley


Sometimes called "Darwin’s Bulldog," Thomas Huxley was an early and energetic defender of evolution. While Darwin himself was reticent about public argument, Huxley threw himself into the fray, famously debating Samuel Wilberforce in 1860.
