This past week on Fossil Friday, I gave you a turkey of a fossil. Or a turkey-like fossil.  Or what the UC Museum of Paleontology calls a "extremely bird-like" fossil.

So who was it?

Compsognathus longipes!

Found in Germany, this fellow was wandering around during the late Jurassic.

Kudos to those who guessed it!

I hope that this was enough to fill your gullet for two whole weeks, because we'll be taking Thanksgiving off this week here at the fossil headquarters.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
